about

The last song on the EP plays in a moment of complete unraveling of the formerly known, of the pillars on which my life was built, but out of which new life must be born. When Fog & Quicksand speaks of the entanglements of a formerly unknown freedom, and Comfort stands as an Ode to Safe Spaces for oppressed minorities, Another Life is a song of a hurt and shattered being that dwells in the moment between past and future. In this way, the last song of the EP stands as a promise of a more mature and more conscious future that promises a more sophisticated posture, one more conscious of their surroundings and their role within it. One that will be more mature in dealing with their own emotions and those of others. From here on, you can expect songs that embody all of the before.

lyrics

I picked my own brain,
Picked my own guilt
Oh, exposed to acid rain
Fueled, by your nitrogen

While applied lovingly,
I put forward cautiously:
Would it hurt to say a word?
Wouldn’t I have given you all?

You were living another life
You were living another life ...

I pulled my own teeth,
Climbed my own trees
Focus, I am not bestowed
Beliefs will have to do for now

While inclined to remedies
Was my heart not worth to keep?
Did I grow remote from you?
Wouldn’t I have given you all?

You were living another life
you were living another life ...

outro, poem by D. H. Lawrence

I never saw a wild thing
sorry for itself
A small bird will [fall]
frozen dead from a bough
Without ever having felt
sorry for itself
